Polysphere is Byotrol's flagship EPA registered disinfectant, which has a wide range of uses from cleaning hospitals and care homes to airlines and the home. Polysphere is sold as a concentrate in a convenient 1-gallon container.
Disinfection Performance in Institutions and Non-Medical Facilities
Hospitals, Dental Offices, Nursing Homes, Other Health Care Institutions, Households, Schools, Restaurants, Food Services, Dairies, Farms, Beverage and Food Processing Plants and Other Non-Medical Facilities.
At 3 ounces Polysphere per 5 gallons of water and with a 10-minute contact time Polysphere is bactericidal according to the AOAC Use Dilution Test method on hard non-porous surfaces modified in the presence of 5% organic serum against:
- Burkholderia cepacia
- Campylobacter jejuni
- Clostridium perfringens-vegetative
- Corynebacterium ammoniagenes
- Escherichia coli 0157:H7
- Enterococcus faecium Vancomycin Resistant (VRE)
- Enterococcus faecium Ciprofloxacin Resistant Not for use in California
- Enterococcus faecium Penicillin-G Resistant Not for use in California
- Klebsiella pneumoniae
- Listeria monocytogenes
- Pseudomonas aeruginosa
- Rhodococcus equi
- Salmonella enterica
- Salmonella enterica serovar agona

Virucidal Performance
At 3 ounces of Polysphere per 5 gallons of water, Polysphere was evaluated with a 10-minute contact time in the presence of 5% blood serum and found to be effective against the following viruses on hard, non-porous surfaces:
- Avian Influenza A H5N1 virus
- Avian influenza/Turkey/Wisconsin virus
- Hepatitis B Virus (HBV)
- Hepatitis C Virus (HCV)
- Herpes Simplex Type1 virus
- Herpes Simplex Type 2 virus
- Human Coronavirus
- Influenza A H1N1 virus
- Influenza A2/Hong Kong virus H3N1
- Influenza A2/J305 virus
- Vaccinia virus
At the same dilution rate, Polysphere was evaluated in the presence of 5% blood serum for a 2-minute contact time and was found to be effective against the following viruse on hard, non-porous surface against the HIV-1 AIDS Virus.
And again at the same dilution rate in the presence of 5% organic load, Polysphere was proven to be effective against Duck Hepatitis B Virus (HBV) and Bovine Viral Diarrhea Virus BVDV surrogate for human Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) with a contact time of 10 minutes.
